Get set for a feeling of Elation; RACING PREVIEW.

Byline: NAOMI MATTHEW

ELATION has plenty to live up to on breeding but is well capable of winning Lingfield's European Breeders' Fund Maiden Fillies' Stakes (12.30) judged on her fine debut.

Mark Johnston's filly is the first foal of the stable's former star Attraction, winner of both the English and Irish 1000 Guineas and a five-time Group One scorer.

When you consider that leading sire Cape Cross is her father, it was little surprise Elation was well fancied for her introduction at Kempton.

Running over what on pedigree is likely to be an inadequate six furlongs, she really lost all chance with a slow start and also ran green in the early stages.

Taken wide to challenge round the home bend, the juvenile finally seemed to realise what was expected of her in the straight, but it was all too late and she eventually had to make do with fourth position.

She was only beaten a couple of lengths and this step up to seven furlongs should help.

She will certainly know more about her job now and will have to win this if she is going to live up to her esteemed heritage.

Dohasa has been in fantastic form this year and looks difficult to oppose in the digibet Sunbury Stakes (8.20) at Kempton. Sent over from Ireland by Ger Lyons, the four-year-old has shown a liking for the all-weather, winning twice in three starts at Dundalk.
