South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit apprentices in business administration at Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

Apprenticeships are programmes of "on and off the job" learning working towards an NVQ, key skills and a technical certificate. There are two types ( foundation and advanced (dependant upon age and current qualifications). Candidates must be aged between 16 and 21 with good GCSEs. TEES Valley Housing Group has presented its annual awards for tenants' floral displays. Terry and Enid O'Hara of Phoenix Park, Middlesbrough, won the hanging basket and pots category and Jean and George Teasdale, of Old Convent Gardens, Middlesbrough won the garden award.

STOCKTON and Billingham Art Society is showing its tenth anniversary exhibition of paintings at Billingham Art Gallery until October 16. Opening times are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
