Get into the grove.

With its high nutritional value and low calorie counts Gaea Olive Snack Packs are making other snack options olive green with envy.

According to company officials, Gaea's olives are hand-harvested from the finest olive groves in Greece, sorted immediately on-site and placed in barrels, containing a brine-water solution, within 24 hours of picking.

"Our Snack Olives are brined, washed and then marinated in olive oil so there is no liquid," says David Neuman, CEO, Gaea North America, based in Hollywood, Fla. "Our ingredients are olives, oil and salt, while some of our competitors contain items like sodium alginate, guar gum, calcium chloride, potassium sorbate, salt and lactic acid."

Gaea Olive Snack Packs are available in three varieties: Pitted Green Olives with Chili and Black Pepper; Pitted Green Olives Marinated with Lemon and Oregano; and Pitted Kalamata Olives, 100% Natural and Sun Ripened. All contain no preservatives and are packaged in a 2.29-ounce resealable pouch with a suggested retail price of $2.99. Calorie counts range from 67 to 150, depending on variety.

"Our Kalamata are naturally ripened on the tree to be black," Neuman says. "Ours are naturally ripened on the tree and are all hand-picked. All of our olives are packed in Greece. They are on a shelf-ready tray, which is important to retailers. We have a shipper that holds nine cases total, three cases of three varieties per shipper."
