Get closer to Cinderella at a new style of panto; MAGICAL TALE BOASTS SPECTACULAR SET.

Byline: MARTIN SHAW martin.shaw@reachplc.com @MARTINSHAWWRNS

HIS Royal Highness, the Prince Charming, requests your company at Marsden Mechanics Hall this Christmas. Oh yes, he does.

Delighting audiences with glitz, glamour and fairy dust magic, innovative theatre company Panto Ever After are bringing the classic fairy tale, Cinderella to the Colne Valley.

Marsden Mechanics will be taken over by enchantment, carriages, royal balls and a pair of blingtastic Jimmy Choos!

This classic, yet exciting, new version of Cinderella runs at the hall from December 20-24, the first time it's hosted a fully-fledged professional pantomime.

Written by award winning scriptwriter James Nicholas, who is also playing one of the Ugly Sisters, the script is a re-imagined, modern, sparkling adaptation.

James is no stranger to writing, but this is his first time writing for Panto Ever After, and he's loved making sure that Cinders well and truly goes to the ball with a bang.

Director Scott Worsfold, the other Ugly Sister, said: "We've taken all the magical elements that people love about pantomime and cranked them up to the next level.

"Our production of Cinderella is set in a very different and exciting style, that of a traverse setting, so audiences will be right next to the stage on both sides, which means you are closer to the action and all the magic."

Scott is no stranger to panto having directed and appeared in over 20 in his career, including last year's critically acclaimed Jack & The Beanstalk.

Panto Ever After have years of experience and this year the team have invested even more to ensure that Cinderella is jam packed with fun and laughter - and the specially-designed set is spectacular too.

Cinderella can be seen at Marsden Mechanics Hall on Friday, December 20, 6pm; Saturday, December 21, 2pm; Sunday, December 22, 2pm and 6pm; Monday, December 23, 2pm and 6pm and Tuesday, December 24, 11am and 2.30pm.

Tickets are PS12 for adults and PS8 for children and concessions. A family of four is PS35.
