Get a free taste of new Kirklees concert season; Classical.

MUSIC lovers can sample the new season's offerings from world-class orchestras in Kirklees Town Halls at two free concerts next week.

On Tuesday, July 7, Dewsbury Town Hall will be hosting a preview event featuring cellist Jessica Burroughs and pianist Martin Pickard as well as an introduction to the forthcoming programme by Richard Farnes, musical director of Opera North, organist Gordon Stewart and Phil Boughton, orchestra manager.

Cellist | The second preview event is on Thursday, July 9, at Huddersfield Town Hall. Both events start at 7pm.

Each year Kirklees offers the preview concerts to subscribers and those interested in becoming concert season subscribers.

The new season, which begins on Thursday, September 17, with a concert of Wagner and Strauss by the Orchestra of Opera North, includes a wide range of concerts, including a Paddington Bear family event and a Christmas recital.

Tickets are not necessary for the preview evenings - simply turn up at the appointed time.
