Digitalization in the logistics industry has an impact on every link in the value chain, from the shipper to the broker, to the freight forwarder and warehouse. Many of the big brokers use more and more digital solutions to expand their offerings. Digital brokers offer additional services to lure freight companies and freight forwarders. Algorithms that streamline the process and deliver the savings to the forwarder offer the automated freight brokers the opportunity to significantly reduce their commission (by 5 to 10 percent) compared to traditional brokers (15-20 percent).
