Germany,India,Japan,Turkey : NTT DATA signed a multi-year deal with DAIMLER for ERP Support Service.

NTT DATA, a leading Japanese provider IT services, has made an announcement on its settlement of a new agreement with global auto giant Daimler for the delivery of ERP support services covering several years.

NTT DATA, however, has refrained from divulging the value of the ERP deal with Daimler.

As part of the newly signed multi-year deal with the German automaker, NTT DATA will take in all template-based applications, which comprise Operations, BASIS and Development services.

Daimler awarded quite a few major IT contracts to Infosys, T-Systems, IBM, among others, in the early part of 2014. It selected the Indian multinational Infosys for the management of its IT infrastructure services and datacenters in Europe. Daimler also signed a key IT systems integration deal with the Deutsche Telekom firm - T-Systems. Apart from this, moovel, an arm of Daimler, had forged partnership with SoftLayer for its car-sharing mobile application.

SoftLayer, a cloud infrastructure company, is one of the subsidiaries of IBM.

NTT DATA will team-up with the Shared Services Centres of Daimler, in Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India (MBRDI) Bangalore, and Mercedes-Benz Turk, Istanbul, Turkey, to deliver application support service for ERP templates.

In a bid to have added support capacity to facilitate fulfillment of the increasing IT demands across the world, Daimler has set up the Shared Services Centres in recent times. These centres will manage 75% of all demands related to the ERP support services and will source expertise, like NTT DATA, to facilitate them to provide this successfully.

The Head (Global Automotive and Enterprise Sales) at NTT DATA, Tokyo, Japan, Naoshi Yoshida stated, With this contract, we will be able to further scale up and accelerate our presence in the APAC markets, strengthen our client base in India, enhance our expertise and business knowledge of Automakers and other manufacturing industries.
