George charity probe.
MP George Galloway was last night under investigation over whether he used charity cash to meet his own travelling expenses.
The Charity Commission officially announced a probe into Galloway's involvement with the Mariam Appeal - named after the sick Iraqi girl he brought to Scotland for treatment.
A statement from the commission said: "We need to find out whether funds were applied for charitable purposes."
Galloway, the MP for Glasgow Kelvin, is already fighting a libel action over claims by an English paper that he pocketed pounds 375,000 from Saddam Hussein.
