George Tyndale: TV needs a kick up the backside.

THE bottom must have dropped out of the world of the anally-fixated Julian Clary. Just when he thought his horrifying remake of the old Mr and Mrs game show must win the award for the most tasteless and tacky TV show of the year... up pops Denise van Outen (right) in front of a new Channel 4 contender called Something For The Weekend.

This is pounds 2 million worth of smut in which one of the highlights is a quiz in which children answer questions about the sex lives of their parents.

Even though Mr and Mrs was so appalling it has been axed this new venture seems destined to descend to levels of distaste that will not be bettered this side of the Millennium unless Dawn French challenges Jo Brand to a bout of nude wrestling in front of an audience of blind lesbians.
