The George Miksch Sutton Award in Conservation Research of the Southwestern Association of Naturalists recognizes an outstanding paper related to conservation published in The Southwestern Naturalist. The 2012 recipient was "Critical thermal maxima of captive-bred Devil's River minnows (Dionda diaboli)," The Southwestern Naturalist 55(4): 544-550, by J. N. Fries and J. R. Gibson.
