George Fuller Co. to expand law library at St. John's.

The George A. Fuller Company, a leading international construction firm headquartered in New York, has been awarded the general contract to build an addition to the library at St. John's University School of Law, located in Jamaica, New York, in the borough of Queens. Fuller constructed the original buildings for the law school in May 1972.

The $20 million project is scheduled to begin construction early this spring, with completion expected by January, 1994. The new building, which will be known as Finley Hall, is being designed by Carson, Lundin & Thorson, PC, to meet the demands of growing enrollment at the school and developments in research technology and law library science.

The six-story, 86,000-square-foot project will enlarge the research facility and include a two-story atrium, classrooms, faculty offices, a student lounge, and alumni function areas.

"We're pleased to assume overall responsibility for this important project," said Wilfred G. Mango, Jr., president and CEO of George A. Fuller Company.

Currently, the firm is completing renovations of the Manhattan Municipal Building and the landmark Guggenheim Museum. Fuller was recently selected, in a joint venture with Parsons Brinkerhoff, as the construction quality manager for the new $140 million Federal Courthouse in Boston, Massachusetts.
