Geordies celebrate in style!

IT'S the celebration of the year and Geordies know how to party on New Year's Eve.

Today we take a look back at some of Tyneside's New Year's Eve parties featuring fireworks, fairgrounds and street performers.

Back in 2002, the festivities were held on the Quayside where a dragon made of fireworks lit up the sky (pic 1).The civic centre was the place to be on New Year's Eve 2004 where fireworks illuminated the city centre (pic 2). Street performers are a regular sight. Pic 3 shows a fire-eater entertaining crowds in the city in 2004, while pic 4 shows a performer on a machine. Pic 5 shows entertainers Bell and Bucket in Saltwell Park in 2007.
