Blake E. Cotton, P.E., LEEDAP, principal geotechnical engineer in GeoEngineers Inc.'s Baton Rouge office, was recently promoted to leader of the company's South Business Unit, encompassing offices in Baton Rouge, LA, and Springfield, MO. Prior to joining GeoEngineers in March 2014,
Cotton spent more than 21 years with Fugro Consultants, where he was a principal and vice president of Louisiana Operations.
Cotton has extensive experience planning, executing and supervising geotechnical and construction materials engineering projects. Prior to managing Fugro's Louisiana operations, he was the engineering manager for the firm's Houston office. In 2004, Cotton became a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council, and he is a licensed professional engineer in nine states.
Cotton also served as the program director for FFEB JV, a joint venture led by Eugro and created in 2007 to service the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers following Hurricane Katrina through a $100 million contract and additional $50 million contract.
