Gentner Ships GSC3000 Site Control System

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Gentner Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: GTNR) today announced that after successful field testing, it has begun shipping its new GSC3000 site control system for broadcast customers.

Radio and television stations will use the GSC3000 site control system to control and monitor remote transmitter sites from their studios. The product also has application in a variety of industrial, utility and municipal venues. With a suggested retail price of $2,495 for the 16 channel unit and $1,495 for the 8 channel unit, this new product will enhance growth revenues for Gentner. "The GSC3000 sets itself apart from the competition," said product manager Buck Buchanan. "Unlike other transmitter control products on the market, the GSC3000 is a stand alone, self sufficient site control system. By having the intelligence programmed into the unit itself, the GSC3000 can execute decisions, maintain logs, and take corrective action without human intervention. One of the most important features of the GSC3000 system is its flexibility. The GSC3000 starts with eight channels of status, command and metering, and can be expanded to over 65,000 channels. This is a critical capability as station ownership consolidates and more transmitter sites are managed by fewer engineers."

"We've concluded successful field testing of more than 40 systems," said Broadcast Sales Manager Gary Crowder. "Our test participants are thrilled with the results. With the response we received not only from our test participants but also from other potential customers, we are confident that the GSC3000 will bring the growth we have expected."

"While the company is currently focused on investing heavily in expanding its sales and marketing capabilities, we remain committed to our ongoing strategy of aggressive new product development. We plan on launching two new product lines in our core businesses within the next three quarters. These new products will be synergistic to our increased sales and marketing efforts and will help to fuel our growth," says Gentner CEO, Russell Gentner. "We are already experiencing better than expected results this quarter from our increased efforts in sales, marketing and product development," concluded Gentner.
