Geffen's gadflies.

HOLLYWOOD There was no keeping stars from spilling behind-the-scenes secrets at the Geffen Playhouse's annual fund-raiser, Backstage at the Geffen, held March 17 in Westwood.

Thesp Roma Downey recalled an incident early in her career when a Broadway co-star was too inebriated to perform, while Julie Andrews drew the loudest laughs recounting the time her "My Fair Lady" co-star Rex Harrison passed gas onstage. "He was a windy fellow," she said.

The event, which honored Annette Bening and Disney's Robert Iger, began with a host committee dinner at W Los Angeles' NineThirty restaurant, where Geffen Playhouse's producing director Gil Cates and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa welcomed the crowd.
