FOR my final column of this year, I thought I would take a look ahead into 2014.
A new year means new beginnings and resolutions, and for me if this festive season is anything to go on, with the amount of delicious treats on offer, then next year will have to be all about the gym.
Luckily in Edinburgh we have some great exercise options available. I have a student pass for the Pleasance Gym, and go to Muay Thai classes at the SMTC gym in Gorgie, which cost PS5 and are a fantastic workout.
Most gyms do student or young person deals, and office discount too, and with the sheer amount of classes available you are sure to find a great workout to start the year.
Many gym-goers may shake their heads at this next statement, however I find gym gear to be an important part of the get-fit process.
If you have an outfit that is both comfortable and stylish, I feel that it adds confidence to your workout.
Too tight and it becomes a distraction to you, too loose and it can be a hindrance.
What you wear can make you feel relaxed and at ease and ready to take on the treadmill. In Edinburgh there are an abundance of places to get gym clothes, and you don't have to break the bank.
I get my gym leggings from the Nike Outlet at Craigleith, my boxing essentials from Decathlon at Hermiston Gate and Sweaty Betty on George Street has the most fashionable gym accessories.
For the basics such as t-shirts and vests, I love the bright range of colours at H&M, and they are cheap too!
Think it's just the LA sunshine and model looks that make A-listers look Gym fresh? No, my friends, that is just good fashion!
So have a great Christmas and a fantastic New Year and get yourself some gym gear to kick-start those resolutions! Happy holidays.
