Gay: Wall of laughter.

Byline: KEVIN ROZARIO

STONEWALL GALA

So... Graham Norton is at it again. Once more the effervescent comic is putting his name to a Stonewall benefit, this time right beside the sea in Brighton.

On Saturday, Norton will have his hands full keeping a top line-up of comics, musicians and magicians in order. They include Jeff Green, Sean Lock, Paul Zenon, Sandi Toksvig, Jason Wood and Mark Steel.

And there's every chance Norton will be banging a few dustbin lids by the end of the evening with Stomp, the percussion troupe that can drum up a storm with humdrum household objects.

The Stonewall Gala is part of Brighton's first comedy festival, which runs until October 19. Festival director William Burdett-Coutts says, "While the Brighton Festival and its elder sister the Edinburgh Festival are enormous in scale, what we offer is a discreet jewel dedicated to laughter." Acts include Rhona Cameron, Omid Djalili, Jenny Eclair, Lee Evans and Puppetry Of The Penis.

Saturday, The Dome, New Brighton Road, Brighton. 8pm. pounds 20 plus 50p for credit card bookings. Tel: 01273 709 709.
