Gateway Offers Increased Power with New Intel Pentium II Xeon Processors.
Gateway adds Intel Pentium II Xeon 450MHz processor and 2MB cache offerings to ALR 9200 four-way enterprise server
Gateway (NYSE: GTW) today announced the availability of its ALR(R) 9200 server with the new Intel(R) Pentium(R) II Xeon(TM) processor at 450MHz. In addition to supporting the faster clock speed on four-way enterprise servers, Intel Pentium II Xeon processors come with up to 2MB cache for increased performance. Incorporating Intel's new Pentium II Xeon processor at 450MHz and up to 2MB-cache technology, the Gateway(TM) ALR(R) 9200 offers its enterprise-level server customers a performance increase of up to 23% compared to a 400MHz-powered ALR 9200 with 1MB cache.
"Gateway is the first server manufacturer to incorporate Intel's Xeon technology across its entire line of servers designed for workgroup, departmental, and enterprise-level applications," said Chris Schlieter, product manager for Advanced Server Systems, Gateway. "This allows corporations to implement Intel's Pentium II Xeon technology at 450MHz across the enterprise, whether its needed for two-way processing in departmental or workgroup environments or in a four-way, mission-critical enterprise-wide server."
The ALR 9200 servers with faster processing and expansive cache sizes are available in compact, mid-sized towers as well as rack-mounted options and offer configurations to address a wide range of applications and client requirements.
