Gas prices for households to date remain unchanged. In December the population of Kyrgyzstan will pay the same rates, OJSC "KyrgyzGas" told Tazabek publication today on January 3. The contracts for the supply of gas by the neighboring countries have not yet been signed, but the negotiations are under way, reported KyrgyzGas. The price of gas supplied by Kazakhstan may be different from January 1, said general director of KyrgyzGas Turgunbek Kulmurzaev. "I can not give any guarantees regarding the future prices. If there are problems with the price, they will be solved at government level," said Kulmurzaev, noting that the contract for the supply of natural gas by "KazTransGas" would be in force until May 2012. Earlier, Deputy Director of "KyrgyzGas" Eugeny Orlenko reported that in accordance with the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, the price of gas would be $195 per thousand cubic meters till the end of 2011.
