Gary to grin & bare it for a Grand Full Monty show.


EASTENDERS actor Gary Lucy is to lead an all-star cast in a stage production of hit comedy movie The Full Monty at the Grand Opera House early next year.

Lucy will be joined by a host of well-known faces in the stage adaptation of the 1997 film about six out-of-work steelworkers who decide to form a male striptease act.

Simon Beaufoy, the Oscarand BAFTA-winning writer of the film, has adapted his own screenplay for this hilarious and heartfelt stage production set in Sheffield, England.

The Full Monty is Beaufoy's first work for the theatre.

His screen credits include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire.

Directing the UK tour of the production is actor Jack Ryder, who rose to fame playing Jamie Mitchell in Eastenders.

Joining Lucy, who plays Gaz, will be Joe Absolom, best-known for playing Matthew Rose on Albert Square and Al Large in Doc Martin as Lomper, The Full Monty will run from January 30 to February 4.
