Gary P. Taylor, MAI, SRA, is the 2004 president of the Appraisal Institute. He has served in a variety of education- and publication-related positions for the Appraisal Institute, including current membership on the Curriculum Committee and the Advisory Committee for the Center for Advanced Real Estate Analysis. He also has chaired the Curriculum, Education, and Faculty committees, and has been a member of the Publications, Education Coordination, and Education committees. Taylor was also a member of the Residential Appraisal Board from 1992-1995 and served as president of the Long Island Chapter in 1992, having served as its executive vice president in 1991.For the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Taylor was a member of the National Publications Committee. For the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, Taylor served as the vice president, secretary, and treasurer for the executive board; chaired the Advancement, Education, and Bylaws committees; and was the national chairman for courses and examinations.
In 1992, he received the William N. Kinnard Jr. Award from the Education Trust of the Appraisal Institute for excellence in education, and in 1997, he received the Real Estate Man of the Year Award from the Long Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He is the president of Rogers and Taylor Appraisers, Inc.
