Garver + Garver makes ENR top 500 for the 10th time.
First, Engineering News Record, one of the construction industry's leading publications, has again ranked Garver+Garver in the Top 500 Design Firms in the United States. Garver+Garver was the only Arkansas-based engineering company included in the list.
Second, the National Society of Professional Engineers has also announced that Garver+Garver is the 1993 recipient of the NSPE Professional Development Award. This prestigious award is given annually to only one private company in the nation for promoting professional development in the engineering work place.
These awards are the current results of humble beginnings. In 1918 Neal Garver came to Little Rock to help support the war effort. According to his diary, his first residence was in a boarding house that later became Arkansas Children's Hospital.
At the conclusion of his war work, Garver stayed in Little Rock and founded an engineering practice. Today more than 100 people work in the company he started and passed to his son, Mark.
Garver+Garver's engineering practice includes bridges, highways, streets, water and waste water, industrial facilities, airports and solid waste, among others. The firm currently operates throughout the south-central United States, with branch offices in Tulsa and Louisville.
And today Garver+Garver still works by the same principles that have guided the firm from the beginning.
