REIGNING champions George Scott's kicked off the defence of their title in magnificent style as they romped to a 6-1 win at Mount Carmel.

Josh Mulholland was the star of the show with a fantastic break of 87.

Thingwall wrecked Woolton's hopes of a decent start to their campaign as they came away with a comfortable 5-2 victory.

VMH C also enjoyed an opening day success with a 5-2 thumping of Woodcutters.

Netherley RBL also beat Cheshire Lines by the same 5-2 scoreline.

SAMH B began their season with a confidence boosting 4-3 win over VMH B with Alan Corner stealing the limelight.

VMH D started their season in new surroundings as they overcame Mossley Hill 5-2.
