Garkalne mayor Bauze-Krastins resigns due to health reasons.
RIGA, Jan 28 (LETA) - Martins Gunars Bauze-Krastins (Latvian Farmers' Union), the long-standing chairman of the Garkalne regional council, has resigned due to health reasons, LETA was told at the Garkalne municipal press office.
Bauze-Krastins informed members of the regional council about his decision on Tuesday.
According to information available in LETA Archive, Bauze was first elected Garkalne mayor in 2010 and was reelected to this position in several subsequent local elections.
Representatives of the regional council said that the mayor has "decided to take a short beak and regain strength for work ahead".
