Gangster busted in drugs and guns raid; Donnell, 43, had arsenal of lethal weapons in flat.

A GANGSTER was behind bars last night after police seized PS60,000 of drugs and an arsenal of guns at his flat.

Paul Donnell, 43, had a Rossi revolver, two Glock pistols, a hunting rifle and a Russian Baikal - the handgun described as Britain's favourite killing machine.

Officers also found a Smith & Wesson revolver, bullets, a silencer and a sight, heroin and cocaine and almost PS15,000 in cash at the flat in Erskine, Renfrewshire. Jobless Donnell said everything seized in the flat was his and told police he had a PS70,000 drug debt.

He admitted a string of firearms and drugs charges at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday. Prosecutors said the offences were aggravated by a connection to serious organised crime.

Judge Lord Turnbull deferred sentence. Donnell was remanded in custody and is facing a long jail term in the new year.
