Gang bid to kidnap girl; ROWLEY REGIS Victim grabbed on her way to school.

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 15-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted abduction.

She was walking along Dudley Road in Rowley Regis close to a nearby pub, when a red car approached.

The front seat passenger waved her towards him and asked if she wanted a lift to school.

He then asked for directions and grabbed her shoulder, trying to pull her into the car. She managed to struggle free and get help. The man who grabbed her is described as white, 18-20 years old, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair combed forward, small amount of facial hair, wearing a blue tracksuit.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white man, 18-20 years old, medium build, wearing a tracksuit, baseball cap and black leather gloves. The gloves were quite tight fitting and the victim could see the imprint of a ring.

There were two other men in the car described as one Asian and one black. The vehicle was described as red and similar in size to a Vauxhall Cavalier, four doors with a black stripe across the windscreen with white lettering across it.

The wheels also had spinning wheel trims. The victim also that the vehicle "looked like a 'boy racer' car".

Police have only just released details of the incident, which happened at about 9 am on Friday November 18.
