Gallagher buys WorkCare Northwest, Chris Schroeder.
Founded in 1998, Workcare derives its business from independent insurance agents and brokers in the western United States.
Earlier in May, Gallagher, as part of a strategy to partner with organizations that can extend its geographic reach, acquired Milwaukee-based property/casualty retail broker Chris Schroeder. Founded in 1888, Chris Schroeder offers risk management, commercial and personal lines insurance services to Midwestern clients. The company specializes in insurance products for religious, institutional, nonprofit and higher education customers, according to the new owner.
In January, Gallagher acquired the reinsurance brokerage assets of JLT Re Solutions Inc., based in Lawrenceville, N.J.; Horton Insurance Agency, a retail insurance broker that offers risk management, commercial property/casualty, life and health insurance services to U.S. clients; and retail insurance broker Marine Insurance Services LLC of Metairie, La.
Arthur J. Gallagher also acquired FPE Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, and Kooper Group Inc. last year.
