Galbreath gets exclusive agency for former Studio 54 building

The Galbreath Company has been appointed exclusive leasing agent for 254 West 54th Street, the entertainment industry hub that once housed the legendary Studio 54 nightclub and now houses The Ritz concert hall and dance club. Peter Ricker, president, made the announcement.

Steven Annis and John Thompson, managing director, will direct the leasing campaign for the 120,000-square-foot, 17-story building between Broadway and Eighth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, which features both office and studio space.

Studio 54 brought the building instant stardom in the late 1970's, and 254 West 54th has remained a magnet for the entertainment industry. In addition to The Ritz, the building houses Sound Works, Inc., a recording label whose clients include artists Stevie Wonder and Duran Duran.

Built in 1928, the building recently received a major renovation, which included new elevator and electrical systems, as well as new windows, lobby and facade. According to Thompson, the building currently offers full floors ranging from 3,650 square feet to 4,850 square feet.

Commenting on the appointment, Annis said, "This building provides a compelling combination for cutting-edge industry firms, who want centralized performance space, studio capabilities and offices."
