Gabba sets pace; REPORTS.

GABBA GABBA HEY was the standard-setter in the heats of the Grolsch Grand Prix over 680m at Nottingham on Monday with Andy Clarke's dog powering clear from the fifth bend to win by almost eight lengths from Bansha Folly in 41.75sec (+40).

Charlie Lister's odds-on favourite Carbarns Tom trailed the field in that heat, but the handler enjoyed better fortune in heat two when his Tyrur Rodge led early to beat Malbay Thumper by three and a half lengths in 42.33sec, while heat three went to Ian Aylward's strong-running Kilahoran Choice in 42.05sec.

Draw for next Monday's final: 1 Rhincrew Scholes, 2 Bansha Folly 3 Kilahoran Choice 4 bba Gabba Hey (m) 5 Malbay Thumper (m) 6 Tyrur Rodge (w) TRANSTOWN MUL set the standard by beating odds-on Seamies Gambler in the first heat of the 750m Coral TV Marathon at Romford on Monday night.

He managed to poach an unexpected early lead and he duly sustained a strong enough gallop to score by two and a half lengths from Seamies Gambler in 47.79sec (+20).

Catunda Craig (48.17sec, +20) took the other heat..
