GULF AIR SELECTS WICAT FOR A-320 FLIGHT CREW TRAINING CBT SYSTEM

OREM, Utah, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Wicat Systems Ltd. has been selected by Gulf Air to provide a computer-based training (CBT) system for flight crew training for its A-320 airliner.
The contract consists of an A-320 Flight Crew Training course with full systems and avionics syllabus, developed by Wicat/Northwest Aerospace Training Co. The course includes Flight Management Systems desk-top multifunction control display unit devices which facilitate hands-on training at each training workstation. The CBT workstations will be housed in five Wicat-supplied cockpit carrel units, each with realistic panel representations of Gulf Air's cockpit panel layout. This will enable crew members to identify the orientation and appearance of cockpit instruments and panels throughout the ground school training phase. Ten workstations will be installed in the cockpit carrels and will all be connected via Ethernet to a central Novell fileserver.
This contract was awarded by Gulf Air after extensive evaluation of all available A-320 training courses. It adds to the existing B767 Flight Training CBT System at Gulf Air's new Flight Training Centre at Doha, Qatar, and the A-320 Maintenance CBT delivery system supplied by Wicat and in service in Bahrain.
Wicat Systems Inc., a Jostens Learning company, and a subsidiary of Jostens Inc., is a world leader in technology-based training products and services. Jostens stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol JOS.
