GUARDIAN BANCORP EXTENDS SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD

 LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Guardian Bancorp (AMEX: GB) announced that it has extended the expiration time of the rights to subscribe for and purchase shares of its common stock to 5 p.m., California time, on Jan. 14, 1994, unless extended by the company.
 Previously, shareholders of record on Dec. 16, 1993, received 2.25 transferable rights for each share of common stock held by a shareholder as of the record date. Each right entitles the holder to purchase from Guardian Bancorp one share of common stock at $2.25 per share. The rights previously expired on Jan. 10, 1994, which will now expire at 5 p.m., California time, on Jan. 14, 1994, unless extended.
