GTSI NO. 1 GSA SCHEDULE MICROCOMPUTER SUPPLIER THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
CHANTILLY, Va., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Government Technology Services, Inc. (GTSI) (NASDAQ-NMS: GTSI) reported today that it has topped the list of contractors selling under the General Services Administration (GSA) microcomputer schedule (Schedule B/C) for the third straight year.
A GSA report that covers the 1991 government fiscal year (ended Sept. 30) indicated that GTSI sold $142.4 million of microcomputer products on schedule, an 11.2 percent increase over fiscal year 1990's $128.1 million level. GTSI's schedule sales included $93.3 million in hardware and peripherals (called "Purchase" in the report), $40,000 in maintenance, and $49.1 million in software. GTSI captured 25 percent of the GSA Schedule market, up from 22 percent in 1990.
According to GSA, GTSI's next largest competitor for schedule sales was Falcon Microsystems, which sold $62.7 million of microcomputer products, 44 percent less than GTSI. Zenith Data Systems, Compaq Computer and Dell made up the remainder of the top five on the list. In aggregate, all Schedule B/C sales remained relatively flat from 1990.
R.M. Rickenbach, GTSI's president and CEO, said: "I am very pleased with the work we've done to service our customers. GTSI's schedule provides a depth and breadth of microcomputer products on Schedule that is unmatched. Our mission is to satisfy our customer and, our reward is increased market share."
