McLaren is following Ferrari's lead on how to make more money from an already very expensive car. Ferrari has built several low-volume cars like the FXX which it sells for zillions and then charges customers extra to look after and run it on race tracks.
McLaren's similar plan involves a more extreme version of its extreme P1. Called the P1 GTR, the hypercar boasts 700bhp per tonne thanks to weight-saving techniques derived from racing. The GTR also features revised aerodynamics for even more downforce. It'll frighten most drivers to death. Production should start later this year. If you need to know the price you can't afford it.
