GTI Awarded Patent for HydroFill Technology.

The Gas Technology Institute (GTI) recently announced it has been awarded a patent for its newly developed HydroFill, a hydrogen dispenser control technology and algorithm. HydroFill was developed through a collaboration with the Department of Energy's Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Infrastructure Technologies program.

According to GTI, the HydroFill technology was developed to address rapid temperature increases that result from the charging of hydrogen into a cylinder. This temperature increase can reduce the amount of fuel stored and thus the driving range of any hydrogen-powered vehicle.

GTI noted that the Hydrofill technology can be customized according to specific customer requirements. The technology is now available for licensing.
