 GTE DIVISION MANAGER ELECTED TO ASSOCIATE MEMBERS COMMITTEE
 OF ALASKA TELEPHONE ASSOCIATION
 ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Ed Young, division manager for GTE Directories' Alaska division, has been elected to the Associate Members Committee of the Alaska Telephone Association (ATA). The ATA, which promotes and defends the general welfare of the individuals, firms and corporations engaged in providing local telephone service in Alaska, consists of 22 member Alaska telephone companies and 93 associate member companies in Alaska and the lower 48 states.
 Young manages Yellow Pages advertising sales for the 21 telephone directories that GTE Directories publishes for telephone companies throughout the state of Alaska. GTE Directories annually publishes more than 360,000 directories for distribution in Alaska.
 GTE Directories is the world's largest publisher of telephone directories. A full-service directory publisher for 55 years, the company publishes, prints, distributes and sells advertising for GTE and independent telephone companies in 43 states and 11 other countries.
