GS 2000: Solving San Diego's High-Tech Recruiting Problems; Growth Strategies 2000 Adds Panel to Address Talent Shortage in San Diego.

"Seeking and Retaining the Best Talent" will be a new panel at Growth Strategies 2000 on November 30, 2000, about revolutionary strategies for recruiting and retaining employees, according to Alitum, ProFinance Associates and The Townsend Agency.

"The Biggest problem San Diego entrepreneurs face is overwhelmingly the talent shortage," said Jackie Townsend Konstanturos, president and CEO of The Townsend Agency. The Panelists include two experts from outside San Diego; Rusty Reuff of Electronic Arts and Michael McNeal of PureCarbon. The third panelist, Leonard Stephens is from one of San Diego's fastest growing companies -- Leap Wireless.

In addition to "Seeking and Retaining the Best Talent," Growth Strategies will feature three other panels addressing the critical issues of "Branding and Positioning," "Managing Fast Growth" and "Financing Fast Growth."

Branding and Positioning

This panel will focus on how three companies effectively grew their businesses through outstanding branding and positioning. Malcolm Wood of Littlefeet, Bill Strauss of and Bruce Frazer of Rubio's Baja Grill will talk about how the pressures of time-to-market, finances, and the Internet have added to the complexities of the branding and positioning process.

Managing Fast Growth

This year's "Managing Fast Growth" panel will provide insight and fresh ideas for companies growing at "Internet speed." Fred Thiel of Lantronix, Vicki Marion of Jabra, and Gary Sutton of Six Month Fix will share ideas that have worked for them as well as some that haven't.

Financing Fast Growth

Entrepreneurs realize that financing is the life-blood of any company undergoing rapid growth. This year's panelists, Michael Perry of Cardio Dynamics and Tom Munroe of Websense, will give advice on how to finance a company without sacrificing too much equity.
