GRUPO TELEVISA ACQUIRES GRUPO AMERICA, THE LARGEST SPANISH MAGAZINE PUBLISHING GROUP AND NETWORK OF DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES IN THE AMERICAS
 MIAMI, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- America Publishing Group, Inc. announced today that Grupo Televisa, S.A. de C.V., the largest media company in Mexico, has acquired the shares of Grupo America, S.A. and its affiliates from America Publishing Group, Inc. Grupo America, S.A. and its principal subsidiary company, Editorial America, S.A., conducts operations throughout most countries of the American Continent, publishing in Spanish over 80 magazines and other periodicals amongst which are: Vanidades Continental, TV Y Novelas, Teleguia, Cosmopolitan en Espaqol, Buenhogar, Mecanica Popular, Ideas Para Su Hogar, Tu, Muy Interesante, Marie Claire, Geomundo, Almanaque Mundial and Harlequin Romance Novels.
 The combined circulation of Grupo America's titles exceeds 120 million copies annually, distributed through its own distribution network covering most countries in Latin America, as well as the Hispanic market in the United States.
 Grupo America is a leader in its field, with publishing and distribution companies operating in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Ecuador and Peru, and representatives in most other Latin American countries.
 The operations of Grupo America will continue to be directed by Gustavo Gonzalez Lewis, as president and chief executive officer and Carlos E. Gonzalez, as executive vice president and chief operating officer. All other executives of the company have been ratified and confirmed in their current positions.
 Alejandro Quintero, currently president of Grupo Radiopolis, a Grupo Televisa subsidiary, has been appointed chairman of the board of Grupo America, S.A. His principal goals and objectives for the immediate future include the identification and support of policies that will lead to greater synergies between the two groups.
 Grupo Televisa, S.A. de C.V. is the largest media company in Mexico with interests in television production and broadcasting, international distribution of television programming, cable television, radio production and broadcasting, music recording, magazine publishing, outdoor advertising, nationwide paging and special events.
 America Publishing Group, Inc. has retained and will continue to expand its other existing businesses, which include sizeable operations currently publishing textbooks, technical and professional books, encyclopedias, partworks, best sellers and other general interest books.
