GROUP W PRODUCTIONS RENEWS 'VICKI!' FOR YEAR TWO; PROGRAM CLEARED IN 60 PERCENT OF UNITED STATES PRIOR TO NATPE

 LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Group W Productions has given the green light to a second-season renewal of the daily one- hour talk/entertainment series "Vicki!," it was announced by Derk Zimmerman, president, Group W Productions, and Richard Sheingold, senior vice president, marketing and sales.
 Currently airing in 158 markets, "Vicki!" has been cleared in 60 percent of the country for the 1993-94 season.
 "Vicki Lawrence has exceeded our most optimistic expectations," commented Zimmerman. "The program's performance in the very competitive daytime arena reflects not only Vicki's dedication to this project but her remarkable abilities to connect with our target audience. We're delighted that Vicki!' will go forward into year two and are confident that the show will become a franchise."

The extraordinary audience appeal of Vicki Lawrence has combined with a well-crafted format and the support of our stations to contribute to the performance of Vicki!'"
 Since premiering in August 1992, "Vicki!" has continued to add markets to its line-up, with the most recent additions being WTMJ, Milwaukee; WLBT, Jackson; WTWC, Tallahassee; KTTC, Rochester; and WLEX, Lexington, which debuted the program Jan. 18.
 Results of the 1992 November sweeps distinguish "Vicki!" as the best performing new talk series since the start of "Oprah." In comparison with time period performances, "Vicki!" delivered impressive increases in households, women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54.
 "Vicki!" averaged a 3 rating/13 share in households, up 30 percent (3 share points) over November '91 time period programming.
 For the week of Dec. 28, the program achieved its highest NTI to date, a 2.7.
 "Vicki!" is produced at the NBC Television studios in Burbank.
