GROUP HEALTH TO HOLD THREE FORUMS TO DISCUSS PROPOSED CONVERSION
 FROM A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO A FOR-PROFIT STOCK COMPANY
 EVENT: Three forums for Group Health Association's 147,000
 members will be held this month to discuss issues
 related to the proposed conversion of GHA from a non-
 profit organization to a for-profit stock company.
 The forums, which will feature presentations by
 health care experts, will cover topics including
 GHA's relationship with its physicians, ways to make
 GHA more competitive, and implications of converting
 GHA to a for-profit stock company.
 The forums are co-sponsored by the GHA board of
 trustees and the Members Rights Committee.
 DATES AND Thursday, Aug. 6: "Developing a new partnership
 TOPICS between GHA and its physicians." Speakers will
 include Dr. Phillip Dew from the Inter-Group Health
 Plan in Arizona and Dr. Ed Marine from the Health
 Care Plan of Buffalo, N.Y., who will discuss
 different forms of medical staff organization.
 Thursday, Aug. 13: "Making GHA more competitive:
 financial needs and choices." Roger Birnbaum, former
 chairman of Group Health Association of America, will
 make a presentation and answer questions.
 Thursday, Aug. 27: "For Profit? Implications for
 consumers access, quality, and cost of health care."
 Speakers will include public health expert Prof. Brad
 Gray of Yale University and consumer representatives
 from other health maintenance organizations.

 LOCATION: Auditorium Building, Building 46 East, University of
 the District of Columbia, 4200 Connecticut Ave.,
