GREGORY OLIVER JOINS CONTINENTAL SAVINGS AS VICE PRESIDENT-DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES

 SAN FRANCISCO, July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Gregory B. Oliver has joined Continental Savings of America in San Francisco as vice president- director of Marketing and Production Support Services.
 This new position at Continental Savings of America includes responsibility for all strategic planning, product development and marketing, and for the company's training division. Oliver will report directly to Charles A. Chenes, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Continental Savings, who says his primary objective is "to coordinate the company's marketing direction, thereby ensuring its continued profits, operating income growth and commitment to providing quality financial products backed by comprehensive training programs and superior customer service."
 A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Oliver has 14 years' experience in the financial industry as senior vice president and director of marketing/corporate marketing division with Western Federal Savings in Marina del Rey, as group vice president for retail banking at Great Western Financial Corp. in Beverly Hills, and as vice president in the retail bank division of Bank of America in San Francisco.
 Oliver also served as deputy assistant for business and economic development to the mayor of San Francisco from 1975-78. He is an active member of the Marketing Advisory Committee of the California League of Savings Institutions, as well as several industry marketing associations.
 Continental Savings ("CSAV") is a federally chartered savings and loan association that operates six savings branch offices in the San Francisco area, and 28 loan origination offices in Northern and Southern California and in New York with assets of $510 million. Its principal business consists of originating loans secured by existing single family residences for sale in the secondary mortgage market.
