GREENWICH LANDMARK IS OFFICIALLY RENAMED

 GREENWICH LANDMARK IS OFFICIALLY RENAMED
 GREENWICH, Conn., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a sign of the times!

After 30 years, the familiar orange-and-yellow sign atop the Showboat Hotel, clearly visible from I-95, will come down at noon, Thursday, March 19. It will be replaced by a sleek, new sign announcing the hotel's new name, the Greenwich Harbor Inn. The inn at 500 Steamboat Road overlooks Greenwich Harbor.
"We are renaming the hotel as part of our on-going redesign and reconstruction program," said Seth G. Weinstein, president of Lexington Development Group, owner of the 100-room inn and restaurant property. "We hope the newly renamed facility will better serve the needs of the community, and become the focal point of community activity. Weinstein noted that "It will take at least 18 to 24 months to complete all the improvements planned for the hotel. But, when completed, the inn will live up to its prestigious location in one of the finest towns in America." The inn will be open for business throughout this period.
Recent improvements already completed include a $1.3 million reconstruction of the sea wall, enlargement of the lobby, and repainting of the restaurant. A new chef has been appointed who will be introducing his menu this week. An out-door dining patio, with colorful umbrellas and a tropical drinks bar, will be completed by Memorial Day, while work continues on the redesign of the inn's exterior facade.
