GREENFIELD TO MARKET WESTINGHOUSE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

GREENFIELD TO MARKET WESTINGHOUSE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenfield Environmental of Carlsbad, Calif., will serve as the exclusive marketing representative of Westinghouse Electric Corporation's (NYSE: WX) Environmental Group in the western United States.
Under terms of a marketing services agreement, Greenfield will begin immediately to market non-nuclear environmental services for Westinghouse.
Edwin J. Kilpela, general manager of Westinghouse Environmental Systems and Services, said the agreement will enable Westinghouse to expand more quickly into important and growing West Coast markets.
"Westinghouse provides one of the broadest ranges of environmental services available," he said. "Greenfield has a significant environmental marketing capability on the West Coast. It's an arrangement that will benefit everyone, including the West Coast customer base that will have better access to services offered by Westinghouse."
This is important, Kilpela said, because Westinghouse operates the nation's western-most hazardous waste incinerator in Tooele County, Utah. That facility, which soon will be commercially operational, a fully permitted facility in Coffeyville, Kan., and a low-level nuclear waste incinerator in Oak Ridge, Tenn., provide Westinghouse with a significant incineration capability.
The Westinghouse Environmental Group is a leading international environmental services organization. Through various divisions and subsidiaries, the group provides a complete range of services for the effective management of both hazardous and low-level radioactive wastes. Services offered include environmental assessment and engineering, remediation, waste treatment and incineration, transportation, storage and disposal.
Greenfield Environmental provides hazardous waste management services to industry and government. Services include treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes, transportation, emergency and remedial services, soil treatment, lab pack and site services and household hazardous waste programs.
