 GREATER MIAMI CHAMBER ANNOUNCES HEALTH CARE PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS;
 FAMILY HEALTH PLAN BECOMES CHAMBER'S HEALTH CARE PROGRAM PROVIDER
 MIAMI, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce announced today that it will offer a managed health care program to its 3,200 member businesses. Chamber Chairman Carlos J. Arboleya, who made the announcement, said that the Chamber has selected Family Health Plan, Inc. as the health benefits provider for this program.
 Arboleya noted that the introduction of the health care program fulfills the goal of the Chamber to develop a low cost, accessible, managed care health plan for Chamber members. He said, "Since the cost of health care and health insurance is a major issue for many of our members and their businesses, we're pleased to make available this quality health insurance product at a reasonable cost."
 The Chamber selected Family Health Plan as the provider for this program following an extensive, 12-month selection process. To that end, the Chamber's Managed Health Care Committee developed selection criteria and coordinated the selection process.
 Arboleya commented, "We wanted to provide a quality health care program for existing members and as an important membership benefit to appeal to prospective members. While there are many fine managed health care programs in South Florida, Family Health Plan demonstrated a comprehensive responsiveness to our very exacting criteria and to our need for an organization that would provide quality care at a reasonable cost."
 Family Health Plan is South Florida's sixth largest managed health care organization and offers a wide variety of managed health care programs for all types of businesses and for not-for-profit organizations. The company is headquartered in Miami and is a Trustee member of the Greater Miami Chamber.
 Arboleya said that the new Family Health Plan Chamber health insurance product would be available only to Chamber members in good standing.
 While the product can be purchased through Family Health Plan directly, the company said it would also make it available through licensed brokerage firms that are Chamber members. A series of required training seminars for brokerage firms that are interested in handling the health care benefits program is being held to acquaint them with the product. The first seminar is scheduled for July 24. For further information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 305-350-7700 or Family Health Plan, Inc. at 305-820-3737.
 "There is no doubt that health care is one of the most critical issues facing businesses today," said Barry S. Scheur, Family Health Plan's acting chief executive officer. "It is through unique partnerships such as this that organizations can create solutions which address these challenges."
