GREAT WESTERN ANNOUNCES $12,500 REWARD

 CHATSWORTH, Calif., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Western Bank today announced it will offer a $12,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the carjacking-related murder of a San Fernando Valley woman and her unborn child outside Great Western's Sherman Oaks branch.
 In a joint press conference this evening, Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky also announced that he will introduce a proposal to the city council tomorrow to offer an identical reward of $12,500.
 Great Western also is a participant in the California Bankers Association "We Tip" telephone hotline, 800-78-CRIME. The "We Tip" hotline is an anonymous method for collecting information about bank- related crimes and distributing rewards.
 "We are greatly saddened by this tragedy," said Ian Campbell, Great Western senior vice president. "Great Western hopes these rewards will encourage anyone with information to contact the appropriate authorities or the `We Tip' hotline."
