A RECENT walk around the Great Orme in Llandudno has helped to raise funds for ChildLine.

Denbighshire Friends of ChildLine Cymru, at North Wales' only ChildLine Counselling Base at Prestatyn, organised their 14th annual Charity Walk, a six and a half mile sponsored walk around the Great Orme on August 20, to raise funds to help more callers reach the ChildLine counsellors.

Chairman of Denbighshire Friends of ChildLine, Gerry Frobisher, who co-ordinated the event on the day, thanked the 39 walkers who turned up, as well as the volunteers for manning the marshal points, carrying the collection buckets, and for providing music.

Friends Treasurer, Danielle Jefferson said "We have raised in the region of PS400 from donations and extra registrations on the day and this money will be going towards answering more calls from young people who need the support of ChildLine. We have still to collect all the sponsorship money in but due to the number of walkers we are estimating an income of over PS1,000."
