GREAT AMERICAN COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY NAMES PRESIDENT OF SUBSIDIARY
CINCINNATI, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Communications Company (NASDAQ: GACC) announced today that John P. Zanotti has been named president and chief operating officer of its Great American Broadcasting subsidiary. He has also been elected to the additional post of executive vice president of GACC. Since joining the company in February 1991, Zanotti has been president of the company's television group. He will now be responsible for all television and radio operations.
In making the announcement, George E. Castrucci, president of GACC, said, "This organizational structure streamlines and improves the efficiency of our operating decision making process. David Crowl will continue in his capacity as president of our Radio Group, and will report to Mr. Zanotti. This structure also allows us to utilize fully the power of the television and radio combinations we have in several markets."
"This past year has been both exciting and rewarding for me," said Zanotti. "While these are difficult economic times for the media business in general, I have the utmost confidence that the broadcast business will again be a strong and viable industry over the longer term. In the near term we face many challenges which should not be minimized, but we have a great group of television and radio stations in good local markets, staffed with a very dedicated group of people. The challenge for the 90s is to devise strategic and creative solutions to become even more effective for our viewers, listeners and advertisers."
GACC and its subsidiaries own and operate six network-affiliated television stations and 12 FM and six AM radio stations in the top 50 markets. GACC's common stock trades over-the-counter under the symbol GACC.
