 GREAT AMERICAN AGREES TO PURCHASE KSLX-FM AND KOPA-AM, PHOENIX
 CINCINNATI, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Communications Company (NASDAQ: GACC) (GACC), announced today that its subsidiary, Great American Television and Radio Company, Inc., has signed a letter of intent with Cook Inlet Radio to acquire KSLX-FM and KOPA-AM, Phoenix, Ariz. The transaction is subject to a definitive agreement by the parties and approval by the Federal Communications Commission. This acquisition completes the reinvestment requirement of Great American's tax certificate.
 KSLX-FM is a Class C FM station operating at 100.7 mHz with a Classic Rock format. KOPA-AM is a 5,000 watt station broadcasting on a frequency of 1440 kHz with a Classic Hits format. The stations serve Phoenix, the 22nd largest radio market in the country.
 David H. Crowl, president of the Radio Group of Great American Broadcasting Company, said, "Because of our ownership in KTSP-TV, we have been looking for a good opportunity to enter the Phoenix radio market. The purchase of KSLX and KOPA adds a very well run property to our radio portfolio. We feel the stations have great potential and we look forward to expanding our presence in the Phoenix radio and TV market."
 GACC and its subsidiaries own and operate 12 FM and six AM radio stations in the nation's top 50 markets. The company owns five network affiliated television stations and has announced the pending acquisition of WGHP-TV, Greensboro-High Point, N.C. GACC's common stock trades over-the-counter under the symbol GACC.
