GREASE, EGGLESCLIFFE COMMUNITY CENTRE, STOCKTON.

GREASE is the word - or it will be on Teesside shortly.

For the much loved rockin' and rollin' musical is set to take to the stage later this month at Egglescliffe Community Centre.

Amateur musical group Centre Stage is behind the production which, as fans will know, sees bad boy Danny and good girl Sandy fall in love amid all the trial and tribulations of their high school friends.

Grease will be Centre Stage's 54th show, performances run from Tuesday June 30 to Saturday July 4. Sam Forster takes the part of Sandy, made famous in the film version by Olivia Newton John, and Danny, played in the film by John Travolta, will be Josh Potts.

Director Michelle Dawson said: "For Centre Stage, Grease is a break away from our more traditional musical productions, and it has attracted a young, vibrant and talented cast.

"Not only that but we have brought together a great rock and roll band and a brand new contemporary set. I'm really excited to see it all come together for our opening night on the 30th June!' The Pink Ladies and the T Birds are ready for some Greased Lightning - are you? ? Grease runs from Tuesday .June 30 to Saturday July 4 at Egglescliffe Community Centre, Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe.
