 GRAYLING GENERATING STATION IN FINAL TESTING PHASE
 DEARBORN, Mich., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Grayling Generating


Station, a 34-megawatt waste wood-fired electric power plant in Grayling, Mich., began generating electricity for the first time on May 15, about three months ahead of the original construction schedule.
 The plant is owned by subsidiaries of the CMS Generation Company of Dearborn; Decker Energy International of Winter Park, Fla.; and Primary Power of Saginaw, Mich. The plant is now in its final testing phase, which will last about two months. It will then be turned over to the owners by the contractor, Black & Veatch Power Development Corporation of Ann Arbor, Mich., and their construction subcontractor, a joint venture between Townsend & Bottum and the Christman Company, also of Ann Arbor.
 Electricity from the plant is being sold to the Consumers Power Company under a long-term contract. Waste wood is supplied by AJD Forest Products of Grayling. The plant has a permanent staff of 27 people and during the peak construction period, employed about 200 people.
