GRAY LINE OF PHOENIX OFFERS NEW CANYON LANDS TOUR
 FEATURING ARIZONA, NEVADA AND UTAH
PHOENIX, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The spectacular drama of the Grand Canyon, of Zion and Bryce National Parks, and the beauty of other locations in the Great Southwest beckon travelers in a special way this year.
It's easy -- and fun -- to answer that call, too, as Gray Line of Phoenix announces three tours of two to five days that make Southwest traveling a pleasurable adventure. Package tour prices begin at $139 per person, double occupancy.
Newly introduced is the Canyon Lands Tour, a five-day excursion that takes travelers to some of the most scenic spots in the United States.
"The Canyon Lands tour will be our first excursion beyond Arizona, into Nevada and Utah," said Burke Fewel, sales manager, Gray Line of Phoenix. "We believe our guests will enjoy combining these expanded tours with our popular local sightseeing tours."
On the Canyon Lands Tour, the deluxe motorcoach departs from Phoenix and winds through the red rock country of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon on the way to one of the world's "seven natural wonders," the Grand Canyon.
Here, travelers tour the Canyon's South Rim and overnight at Maswik Lodge, only a few minutes' walk from the rim of the Canyon.
Next is a journey through the Painted Desert to Lake Powell, for an overnight at Wahweap Lodge, overlooking the lake. A half-day cruise on what is often called "one of the most beautiful lakes in the world" is optional.
On day three, visit Bryce Canyon, after traveling through Kanab, an area that has been the setting for many movies. The next day, guests tour Zion National Park, enjoy lunch at memorable Zion Lodge, then travel to Las Vegas for an evening of glittering fun. Travelers return to Phoenix after making stops at historic Kingman and the monumental Hoover Dam.
The tour, which runs from April to November 1992, is priced at $499 per person, double occupancy.
Another popular tour, available year-round, is the two-day Grand Canyon Overnight, a motorcoach trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. After stopping for lunch in Sedona, continue through the red rock beauty of the area, highlighted by the sheer rock walls and deep gorges of Oak Creek Canyon. The trip is priced from $139 per person, double occupancy.
The two-day Grand Canyon Railway Adventure offers a unique route to the Grand Canyon. From Phoenix, travel to Montezuma Castle National Monument, where 12th-century Indian cliff dwellers lived, on to Sedona and then to historic Williams for an overnight at the charming Mountain Side Inn. The next day, it's "All abo-o-o-ard!" as travelers board restored railway cars for the 2-1/2-hour ride to the Grand Canyon, a motorcoach tour to view the Canyon's splendor, and a return trip to Phoenix. It's an exciting and fun-filled trip, priced at $199 per person, double occupancy.
Gray Line of Phoenix also offers five local day excursions. Included are a half-day tour of Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun and day-long motorcoach excursions to the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, historic Tucson, and a tour combining a visit to a gold mine in the Superstition Mountains and a cruise on Canyon Lake.
